The people she bought him from agreed to keep him until she found a suitable place. She hardly ever handled him because she didn't know how to ride. Eventually she needed to find appropriate housing. She found a cheap place to board; the only downside: the owners were shady. As time went on and she lost even more interest, and then she just stopped paying the board fees. The horse was kept in turn for the missed payments. The shady stable owners thought they could resell him and get their money back, but no one wanted an older gelding who didn't care much for humans. By this point he had developed arthritis so bad that they couldn't touch him at all for fear he would bite them, so he was sold for a cheap price. He will need to be put on a pain relief plan, which should be discussed with your vet. He can be a grouchy old man, and he dislikes other horses, and most humans. So he will need lots of work, but with a gentle approach he'll be just fine." Dessabella lead the grumpy gelding into the medical facility for some standard procedures. First she would have to determine the extent of his arthritis and other injuries before making a plan for him. Werewolf didn't seem to mind Dessa now. The eleven woman learned how to approach the grumpy old man and how to handle him. She would keep her hand under his chin and force his head up in order to keep him from snapping. Dessabella would even rub the backs of the wolf dun's ears to keep him relaxed. Dess walked the gelding inside of a medical examining room and had him tied to a rail in the large room. Next she had one of her assistants come in and help hold his head while she felt around his legs. Werewolf's legs were enlarged with an inflammation caused by arthritis. The woman could hear the poor old boy groan in pain as she prodded him. It didn't take her very long to look for other injuries. All she found were minor cuts and some bruises from being in a stall for too long. She super glued the cuts shut to keep them from opening up and decided that she would ice his bruises last. As for the medical schedule, here is what she wrote for a daily basis: 1) give him one herbal arthritis pill with his breakfast 2) wrap his knees in an herbal salt wrap made for arthritis 3) put him to pasture alone for a couple hours 4) rewrap his knees as needed 5) give him an herbal soak before bedtime (good for skin, coat, and joints) 6) groom him and put to bed This daily list won't cure his arthritis, but it will at least alleviate his pain. Once a month they will have an acupuncturist come and treat him. No one will be allowed to ride him, but he can still at least show or be used for educational purposes to teach others about his breed. Dessa smiled at her gelding and rubbed his forehead. "You were such a good boy. Let's get this schedule of yours started, shall we?" The wiccan elf lead Werewolf out of the facility and out to the pasture to begin her daily schedule with him. relations... sire ;; foundation dam ;; foundation mate ;; n/a offspring ;; n/a, he's gelding |
